Man in jail after girlfriend's grandpa stabbed

A man faces charges of aggravated felonious assault after he allegedly stabbed the 88-year-old grandfather of his girlfriend.

Police said Leonard Brown, 42, stabbed Raymond Stubblefield in the back after he became involved in a fight that included multiple people at 38 E. Maplewood Ave.

The fight spilled over into the other side of the duplex at 36 E. Maplewood Ave. -- most of it occurred on the front porch -- and that's when Stubblefield was stabbed by Brown, who had a kitchen knife, Dayton Lt. Kenneth Beall told News Center 7.

Brown suffered some cuts and was taken to a hospital, and then later to Montgomery County Jail. Stubblefield and two females were taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Truck fire causes traffic issues on EB I-70

A truck reportedly carrying a propane tank caught fire on eastbound Interstate 7o Wednesday morning.

The truck caught fire near the Charleston Pike exit around 9 a.m. and caused traffic delays through the area.

As of 10:30 a.m., the truck had been towed and traffic was moving.

Industrial fire reported at Xenia business

A fire at Custom Manufacturing Solutions in Xenia was put out quickly by employees, but smoke from the fire remained an issue.

Crews were called Wednesday morning to the facility located at 479 Bellbrook Ave. just after 8 a.m. on the report of an industrial fire. Firefighters said they saw smoke upon arriving at the scene.

Aluminum shavings caught fire inside a filter system, according to officials. Employees were able to contain the fire to the filter system, but smoke inside the building was an issue.

Mike Collinsworth, president of Custom Manufacturing Solutions, said there were no injuries and the building was evacuated quickly. He said they were working to get smoke out of the building before letting employees return inside.
